Fifty Thousand New |Residents Need Roofs|

Ada County alone has added roughly fifty thousand residents since 2020, and those people are moving into houses that didn’t exist five years ago. That means a lot of new roofs going on in this valley.

Peak Roofing installs asphalt roofing systems on new and custom homes throughout Ada and Canyon County. We’re owner-operated, which shapes what we’re good at. We’re not the outfit that puts roofs on two hundred tract homes a quarter. We’re the one where the owner knows your project by name and answers his own phone.

Peak Roofing was already a trusted name in the valley when Mike took it over. He brought more than 10 years of hands-on experience with him. Read our story

For Builders and |General Contractors|

You get a written scope with the specific system in it, not a square-foot number and a handshake. If something on the plan set will cause a problem at the roof, we’d rather raise it at bid than at framing.
No dispatcher, no account rep, no crew you’ve never met showing up. The owner is the point of contact from bid through final inspection.

Fascia, drip edge, and siding all meet at the same three inches.

Getting a structure weather-tight on schedule protects everything under it. That’s the part of the job we treat as urgent.

For Homeowners
|Building a Custom Home|

If it’s your house going up, you’re likely choosing a roof for the first time and choosing it from a spec sheet rather than a sample.
Shingle line, color, and ventilation are decisions with real consequences for how the roof looks and how long it lasts. We’ll walk you through the trade-offs in plain terms rather than handing you a swatch book.
Ventilation, valley details, and skylight placement are cheap to get right on paper and expensive to fix later.

Ten years from now, when something needs attention, you’ll have the name of the company that installed it and a company that’s still here. See what our customers say.

What Goes On a New Roof

A roof is a system, and the shingles are the last thing to go on.
On a new build the decking is new, which is the one time you can be certain what’s under the roof. We check fastening and spacing before anything covers it.
Synthetic underlayment goes over the deck. Ice and water shield goes at the valleys and around every penetration. The drip edge is set so water leaves the roof instead of running behind the fascia.
Chimneys, wall intersections, valleys, and every penetration. This is where roofs leak, and it’s where a fast install shows up as a callback two winters later.

We install Owens Corning Duration architectural shingles. Class 4 impact-resistant lines are available if you want the extra hail rating. Compare brands and materials.

Ventilation Designed In, |Not Added Later|

This is the part of a new roof most people never think about, and the part that decides whether it reaches its rated life.

An attic needs balanced airflow, intake low and exhaust high. A ridge vent without enough soffit intake doesn’t move air, it pulls conditioned air out of the house instead. Heat and moisture then sit against the underside of the deck, and the shingles above cook from below.

On a new build you can get this right for almost nothing. The soffit is open, the ridge isn’t closed up, and the intake and exhaust can be sized to each other before anyone’s finishing drywall. On an existing house the same fix means cutting into a finished soffit.

Ask us about it early. It’s the cheapest thing on the roof and the one that most often gets left to whoever happens to be standing there.

Code and Inspections in |Ada and Canyon County|

Idaho uses the 2018 residential code statewide. But the numbers that matter at the roof aren’t the same everywhere in the valley.
Ada County builds to a 20 psf ground snow load with a 25 psf minimum on the roof. Lower Canyon County towns sit closer to 15 to 18. Elevation drives it.
The design wind speed here is 90 mph. That’s the same as the 115 mph ultimate speed in the code tables. One standard, written two ways.
Every city runs its own building office. Some hand inspections to a third party or to the state. A few unincorporated areas permit through the county instead. We handle whichever applies to your address.

Warranties
and the Peak Promise

Your work is warranty-backed and the shingles carry the manufacturer’s warranty. We’ll explain exactly what applies to the system going on your build before we start.
We aim to get your roof right the first time. Once in a while a job hits a bump. What matters is that your roofer stands behind the work. If something needs attention after we’re done, you call us and we take care of it. That’s the promise we stand behind on every job.

Peak Roofing is licensed, bonded, and insured under Idaho registration #4071991.

Talk with Peak Roofing

Do you work with builders or only with homeowners?
Both. Builders and general contractors get a written scope and one point of contact. Homeowners building a custom home get walked through the choices. The install is the same either way.
Earlier than most people do. Ventilation, valley details, and skylight placement are cheap to solve on the plan set and expensive to change once framing is up.
No, and here’s why. The tool measures an existing roof from satellite imagery, so it needs a roof to look at. New builds get a real bid instead.

Owens Corning Duration architectural shingles, with Class 4 impact-resistant lines available. We install asphalt and we don’t spread across every material on the market. Compare brands and materials.
