It Starts
|Above the Gutter|
Founded in 2017, and the name spread by recommendation. When Mike took over, the name was already known in the valley. He had spent over ten years on roofs before taking it on.
Peak Roofing is an owner-operated company working across Middleton and Canyon County. We’re based in the county rather than across the valley.
We handle gutters as part of the roofing system rather than as a separate trade, which matters more in Middleton than in most places. The roof edge and the gutter meet at the same three inches, and a lot of what gets called a gutter problem here starts a few inches above the gutter.
Why Gutters
|Matter in Middleton|
Water into the gutter is the design
Everything works when the roof edge delivers water over the lip and into the run.
Water behind the gutter is the fault
It happens a few inches higher up, at the roof edge, and the symptoms all appear at the gutter. Stained fascia, soft soffit, a dark line down the wall.
The gutter gets blamed either way
Which is why we look at the edge detail before quoting anything, rather than replacing a run that was doing its job.
Gutter Services for |Middleton Homes|
Gutter repair
Leaking corners and outlets, pulled hangers, blocked downspouts, and sagging between hangers.
Installation and replacement
When a system is past patching, meaning split seams along the run or gutters pulling off the fascia.
Gutter cleaning
Gutters and downspouts cleared, hangers and joints checked in the same visit.
Gutter guards
Guards take some of the frequency out of gutter cleaning. Cleaning still happens, just less often, and that is the honest position. Ask us. If the answer is that you do not need them, that is what you will hear.
Roof edge and drip edge
Where water is getting behind the gutter rather than into it. Often the real fix.
Doing Gutters With Your Roof
Pairing gutters with a roof is the one occasion someone definitely looks at the roof edge properly.
A new roof is the obvious opportunity to sort the gutters out.
The drip edge, the roof edge and the gutter get set together, and you pay for one setup instead of two. In Middleton that pairing has an extra benefit, because it’s the one occasion when someone is definitely looking at the roof edge properly.
Warranties and the |Peak Promise|
- The Peak Promise.
We aim to get your roof right the first time. Once in a while a job hits a bump. What matters is that your roofer stands behind the work. If something needs attention after we’re done, you call us and we take care of it. That’s the promise we stand behind on every job.
If water is still getting behind the gutter after we have been, that is not a finished job and we will treat it that way.
Peak Roofing is licensed, bonded, and insured under Idaho registration #4071991.

If water is running behind your gutter rather than into it, the gutter is probably innocent.
There’s a strip of metal at the edge of your roof called drip edge. Its whole job is to carry water off the last few inches of roof and drop it into the gutter, instead of letting it curl back underneath and run down the fascia. It costs very little and it takes minutes to install correctly.
It’s also one of the easiest things on a roof to skip.
And in Middleton, nobody checks. The city exempts a like-for-like asphalt re-roof from needing a permit, which means no inspection either. On a job with no inspector coming, the details that don’t show from the ground are the ones most likely to be left out. Drip edge doesn’t show from the ground.
So a homeowner here gets a re-roof, everything looks fine, and two winters later there’s a dark stain on the fascia, or the soffit starts to go soft, or water is visibly tracking behind the gutter every time snow melts. They ring a gutter company. The gutter company quotes new gutters.
New gutters won’t fix it, because the water was never going into them in the first place.
What we do about it. When we come out for a gutter problem in Middleton, the first thing we look at is the roof edge. If the drip edge is missing, short, or fitted so water gets behind it, that’s what needs sorting, and it’s usually a smaller job than replacing a system that’s working exactly as intended.
If your gutters were fine before a re-roof and started misbehaving afterwards, that timeline tells you most of what you need to know.
The town has two kinds of house, and both come with a version of this.
Middleton was incorporated in 1910 and has a genuinely old centre, while the median home here was built around 2009 after the town grew from roughly 9,400 people in 2020 toward 14,000. On the older houses near the middle of town, the fascia has been through several gutter systems and years of water it shouldn’t have seen, so the board itself may need attention before anything new goes up. In the newer subdivisions, the fascia is sound and the roof edge detail is the thing worth checking.
Winter is the same either way. Middleton sits at about 2,402 feet and takes the same freeze and thaw as the rest of the valley. Ice sits in a run, freezes overnight, thaws by afternoon, and works at the corners and the hangers. That’s the slow damage. The drip edge problem is the fast one.
Why would it be missing on my house?
My gutters were fine until we had the roof done. Coincidence?
My fascia has gone soft. Is that fixable?
Water runs behind my gutter. Do I need new gutters?
What's a drip edge?
