Usually a Repair,
|Not a Replacement|

Gutters sit inside the roofing system here rather than beside it. The roof edge, the drip edge, the fascia and the gutter all meet at the same three inches, and when a roofer and a gutter company blame each other, you’re the one standing in the wet.

Peak Roofing is an owner-operated company working across Meridian and Ada County. The business dates to 2017 and earned its reputation one neighbor at a time. The company already had standing here when Mike took the reins. Ten years and more of hands-on experience came with the change.

Most Meridian homes are newer than the people working on them assume, and that changes what we’d recommend

Why Gutters
|Matter in Meridian|

A Meridian roof holds its snow longer than an older house does, and that changes what the gutters have to cope with.

Better insulation means a colder deck

Meridian builds to a blower door test and an R-49 attic minimum. Very little house heat reaches the underside of the roof, so snow sits rather than trickling away.

Then it all goes at once

One warm afternoon releases what a leakier roof would have shed over a week. The same volume arrives in a fraction of the time.

Which is a capacity question

Whether your gutters cope depends less on their size than on how many outlets a long elevation has to move it through.

Gutter Services for |Meridian Homes|

A dripping corner on a Meridian home is normally a repair, not a replacement.

Gutter repair

Leaking corners and outlets, pulled hangers, blocked downspouts, and water running behind the gutter instead of into it. On a Meridian home this is usually the right answer.

Installation and replacement

When a system is genuinely past patching, meaning sagging between hangers, split seams along the run, or gutters pulling off the fascia.

Gutter cleaning

We clear gutters and downspouts and check hangers and seams while we're up there, which most cleaning services skip.

Downspouts and discharge

Too few downspouts and the run backs up. Discharge too close to the house and you've moved the problem to the foundation.

Gutter guards

Guards reduce how often gutters need clearing. They don't eliminate it, and we'd rather set that expectation properly up front. Ask us and we'll give you a straight answer, including when the answer is that you don't need them.

Doing Gutters With Your Roof

Meridian re-roofs show up in the city’s weekly permit reports, so pairing the work is straightforward.

If the roof is going, the gutters should be part of the same decision.

The roof edge is the only time that detail is genuinely accessible. With the old covering off, the drip edge and gutter can be set together, which is quicker, cheaper and produces a better finish than doing it later.

Warranties and the |Peak Promise|

Your work is warranty-backed, and we’ll explain what applies to your specific job before we start.
We aim to get your roof right the first time. Once in a while a job hits a bump. What matters is that your roofer stands behind the work. If something needs attention after we’re done, you call us and we take care of it. That’s the promise we stand behind on every job.

Gutters Built
|for Meridian Homes|

The unique local block. Every fact is verified. Sources at the end.

Most of Meridian is still on the gutters the builder put up, and that’s the useful thing to know.

The median home here was built around 2007. Roughly a third of the city’s housing went up between 2000 and 2009 and another third between 2010 and 2019. Very few Meridian homeowners have ever replaced a gutter.

So when something goes wrong, it usually isn’t the gutter.

On an aluminium system the metal has a long life in it. What doesn’t is the sealant at the corners and around the outlets. Sealant hardens and cracks under ultraviolet light, and in a high desert valley with long exposed summers it does that faster than most people expect.

The result is a run that looks completely fine from the driveway and drips steadily at one corner every time it rains. That’s a repair, and it’s a small one. It is worth asking whether a repair will solve it before agreeing to anything larger.

When replacement genuinely is the answer, it looks different: sagging between hangers along the run, seams splitting rather than just leaking, or the gutter visibly pulling away from the fascia. Those aren’t sealant problems.

Your attic changes how snow behaves on the roof.

Meridian builds to Climate Zone 5B energy requirements, with a blower door test and an R-49 attic insulation minimum. That’s good for your power bill, and it has an effect most people never connect to their gutters.

A well-sealed, heavily insulated attic lets very little house heat reach the underside of the roof deck. The deck stays colder, so snow sits on a Meridian roof rather than quietly trickling off. Then a warm afternoon arrives and the whole load goes at once. A gutter that would cope with a slow melt gets the same volume in a fraction of the time, and that’s when overflow behind the fascia happens.

It’s also why downspout count matters more here than the size of the gutter itself.

Where we work. North Meridian above McMillan, South Meridian below the interstate, and the older centre of town, which holds the small pocket of genuinely older housing here. Those central homes are the ones where the fascia is worth a proper look before anything new goes up.

Talk with Peak Roofing

How do I know when it actually is time to replace?
Sagging between the hangers, seams splitting along the run rather than just weeping, or the gutter pulling away from the fascia. Those are structural rather than sealant problems.
Because it melts fast. A well-insulated attic keeps your roof deck cold, so snow sits until a warm afternoon and then goes all at once. Often the fix is another downspout rather than a bigger gutter.
Yes, and it isn’t about rainfall. It’s about where concentrated snowmelt lands, which is in a narrow band next to your foundation.
Yes, and it’s the sensible order. The drip edge, roof edge and gutter meet at the same spot, so setting them together avoids the seam where two trades disagree.
Probably not. On a home of Meridian’s typical age the sealant at corners and outlets fails long before the aluminium does. That’s a repair, and a small one.
