Two Offices, |One Roof|

New Plymouth is a small town with a permitting setup that isn’t obvious from the outside. Knowing how it actually works is the difference between a job that lands on schedule and one that drifts.

Peak Roofing works in New Plymouth and Payette County as an owner-operated company. Founded in 2017, grown on referrals, and taken over by Mike, who brought more than 10 years on roofs with him.

We do residential work and we install asphalt. We look, we photograph, and we explain what it means without dressing it up. If a repair is enough, we’ll say so. Read our story

The measurement comes from satellite imagery, so square footage and pitch are read off your roof directly. Access is rarely a problem on these lots, which keeps the job straightforward once it starts.

We confirm the final scope at the inspection, since decking is hidden until the old roof comes off.

Financing is available on qualifying replacements.

Warranties and |the Peak Promise|

The work is warranty-backed and the shingles carry the manufacturer’s own warranty. You will know what applies to your system before anyone starts. Payette County design values apply, with a 30 psf ground snow load.
We aim to get your roof right the first time. Once in a while a job hits a bump. What matters is that your roofer stands behind the work. If something needs attention after we’re done, you call us and we take care of it. That’s the promise we stand behind on every job.

The unique local block. Every fact is verified. Sources at the end.

Your permit comes from City Hall. Your inspector doesn’t work there.

New Plymouth contracts its building inspections out to the Fruitland Building Department. The city takes the application, either dropped off at City Hall or emailed to the deputy clerk, and the inspection is carried out by Fruitland’s inspector.

That’s genuinely good news for you. Fruitland runs a quick book, scheduling next-day inspections when the request comes in early enough. A New Plymouth job inherits that rhythm. It also means knowing the arrangement up front keeps the job moving.

Plumbing and electrical permits, if a project needs them, come from the State of Idaho rather than the city. A straightforward re-roof doesn’t, but it’s worth knowing how the pieces fit.

The design numbers are heavier out here than in the valley. Payette County publishes a 30 pound per square foot ground snow load, a 115 mph wind load, and Seismic Zone C. Ada County’s snow figure is 20, and parts of Canyon County are 15. A quote built on valley numbers isn’t built for this town.

The horseshoe actually matters for the work.

New Plymouth is the only town in the country platted as a double horseshoe. It was designed in Chicago in 1895 by an irrigation colony society, laid out with symmetrically curved streets and an 80-foot boulevard park running a mile around the whole shape. The city calls itself the World’s Largest Horseshoe, and it isn’t a marketing line, it’s the street plan.

For a roof, curved streets and generous frontage change the logistics. A tear-off needs somewhere to put a dumpster and room to work a truck without blocking a neighbor, and that’s easier here than in a tight modern subdivision. It’s the kind of thing we sort out on the walk-through so nothing surprises anyone on the morning of.

The housing runs old. The colony was incorporated in 1896 and the town has grown slowly ever since, from under a thousand people in 1970 to 1,494 at the last census. New Plymouth sits at about 2,257 feet. On the older homes here, the decking under the shingles is often board rather than sheet material, which changes how a new roof fastens down. You don’t know until it’s off.

New Plymouth |Roofing Questions|

Talk with Peak Roofing

Who issues my roofing permit in New Plymouth?
The city does, through City Hall. You can drop the application off or email it to the deputy clerk. The inspection itself is carried out by the Fruitland Building Department, which New Plymouth contracts with. We handle both ends.
No, the opposite. Fruitland schedules next-day inspections when requests come in early enough, so New Plymouth jobs tend to move quickly.
Yes. Enter your address and we measure your roof by satellite, then show you real pricing for that roof. We confirm the final scope at the inspection, because decking and ventilation aren’t visible from above.
It can. Older homes often have board decking with gaps rather than solid sheet material, and sometimes that needs a layer added before new shingles go on. We’ll know once the old roof is off, and you’ll hear it from us then.
Both. On an older roof a repair is often the right call, and we’d rather do the repair and earn the bigger job later. Repair estimates are free. Repair estimates are free.
