Costs and |Quotes|
- How much does a new roof cost?
It depends on your roof, which is a real answer rather than a dodge. Size, pitch, how cut up it is, how many old layers come off, decking condition, and shingle line all move the number. Rather than guess, price your roof online and see a figure built on a satellite measurement of your actual roof.
- Is the online quote really free?
- How accurate is the instant quote?
Closer than a ballpark, because it’s measured from your roof rather than averaged across a region. We confirm the final scope at the inspection, since decking and ventilation can’t be seen from above.
- Do you charge for an estimate
No. Roof inspections and repair estimates are both free.
- Do you offer financing
Yes, through Wisetack, including zero-percent options for up to 24 months on qualifying replacements. Pre-approval is a soft pull and comes by text or email.
- Are there any discounts?
5% for military and veterans, 5% for first responders, medical staff, and teachers, up to $1,000 off a full replacement, and a $500 referral credit. Ask about eligibility.
Roof |Replacement|
- How long does a roof last in the Treasure Valley?
Architectural asphalt commonly runs 20 to 30 years here. Our sun and temperature swings age shingles faster than rain does, and attic ventilation
is what decides where in that range you land.
- How do I know it's time to replace rather than repair?
Widespread granule loss, curling across more than one slope, or a roof past twenty years on its second or third repair. Contained damage on a newer roof is usually a repair.
- How long does a replacement take?
Most valley homes are one day. Larger, steeper, or more complicated roofs run into a second. Weather can move it, and we’ll tell you what to expect before we start.
- Do I need to be home?
No, though most people like to be there for the final walkthrough.
- What happens to the old roof?
We tear it off, check the decking underneath, and haul the debris away.
The job ends with a magnet sweep of the property for nails.
- Do you replace the decking?
Only if it needs it, and we can’t know until the old roof is off. If we find rot or delamination, you’ll hear about it before we proceed, not after.
- Can I put a new roof over the old one?
Sometimes it’s allowed, but we don’t recommend it. An overlay hides whatever is wrong underneath and shortens the life of the new shingles.
Repairs and |Leaks|
- My ceiling is stained. Is that the roof?
Often, but the stain is rarely underneath the entry point. Water gets in at a seam, travels along the decking or a rafter, and shows up somewhere else. That’s why chasing it from inside the house doesn’t work.
- Can a roof be repaired instead of replaced?
Usually, if the damage is contained and the roof still has life in it. We’ll show you photos and tell you honestly which one you have.
- Water is coming in right now. What should I do?
Call (208) 724-9315 rather than filling out a form. Move what you can, put a bucket down, and stay off the roof. We schedule leak calls ahead of routine work.
- Will you repair a roof you didn't install?
Yes, and that’s most of our repair work.
- What are your hours?
Monday through Saturday, 7am to 6pm. If water is entering your home outside those hours, call anyway and leave a message.
- My skylight leaks. Is that the glass?
Almost never. It’s the flashing around it, which is fixable.
Storm and Insurance
- Does homeowners insurance cover roof replacement?
Often, when the damage comes from a covered event like wind or hail rather than age or wear. Every policy differs, so we won’t promise an outcome. We can inspect, document what we find, and help you through the process.
- How do I know if a storm damaged my roof?
Usually you can’t tell from the ground, which is the problem. Creased shingles and hail bruising both look normal from a distance. Check the eaves for granules and the soft metal for dents.
- Will you handle the insurance claim for me?
We inspect, document with photographs, provide a written report, and can be there when your adjuster comes out. We don’t file on your behalf and we won’t
tell you a claim will be approved, because that isn’t our call.
- Should I file a claim?
Not always. Sometimes the repair costs less than your deductible and filing isn’t worth it. We’ll tell you when that’s the case.
- How long do I have to file?
Most policies require prompt notice and the window varies by carrier. Check your policy, and don’t let the inspection wait on the paperwork.
- Will a claim raise my rates?
That depends on your carrier, your history, and whether the storm was widespread. Ask your agent before you file, since that sits with your carrier rather than with us.
Materials
|and Warranty|
- What shingles do you install?
Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration architectural shingles on most homes, with Duration FLEX available when you want the Class 4 impact rating.
- Do you install metal, tile, or flat roofing?
No. We do residential asphalt. If your project needs something else, we’ll say so rather than take the job.
- Is one shingle brand better than the others?
Not meaningfully, at the same tier. The major manufacturers are all credible. How the roof is installed and how well the attic breathes matter more than the logo.
- What are Class 4 shingles?
The top impact rating an asphalt shingle carries, built to take hail without the mat cracking. Some insurers offer a premium discount for them, though that varies by carrier, so ask your agent.
- What warranty do you offer?
Your work is warranty-backed and your shingles carry the manufacturer’s warranty. We’ll explain exactly what applies to your roofing system before your project starts.
- What is the Peak Promise?
We aim to get your roof right the first time. Once in a while a job hits a bump. What matters is that your roofer stands behind the work. If something needs attention after we’re done, you call us and we take care of it.
Working |With Us|

- Do you do commercial buildings?
No. Homes and new residential construction only.
- What does cleanup involve?
A full cleanup and a magnet sweep of the property for nails and loose fasteners. It’s the part homeowners tend to remember.
- How do I get started?
Price your roof online in about a minute, or [book a free inspection if you’d rather someone looked at it first.
