The Highest |Ground We Work|

Roofing here isn’t the same job it is out in the Treasure Valley. You’re higher up, the county names roofing permits specifically, and there’s a rule about where the old roof can go that catches people out.

Peak Roofing is owner-operated and works Mountain Home and the surrounding area. Founded 2017, grown by word of mouth, and now run by Mike, who spent more than 10 years on roofs before taking it on.

We do residential work and we install asphalt. We’ll tell you what the roof is doing and what can sensibly be done about it. If a repair is enough, we’ll say so.

We measure from satellite imagery, so the number comes off your own roof. At 3,150 feet the specification differs from the valley floor. Elmore County also requires ice barriers, and the quote accounts for that.

Decking and ventilation are confirmed at the inspection. Ask about financing

Warranties and |the Peak Promise|

Warranty-backed work, plus the manufacturer’s warranty on the shingles themselves. We go through what covers what before the project begins. Elmore County requires ice barriers, which the Treasure Valley floor does not.

We aim to get your roof right the first time. Once in a while a job hits a bump. What matters is that your roofer stands behind the work. If something needs attention after we’re done, you call us and we take care of it. That’s the promise we stand behind on every job.

Peak Roofing is licensed, bonded, and insured under Idaho registration #4071991.

Elmore County names roofing permits specifically, and requires ice barriers with them.

Most counties leave roofing to be read into a general permit requirement. Elmore County spells it out: roofing permits are required, and ice barriers are required under section R905.1.2 of the code.

That’s a different standard from the Treasure Valley floor, where ice barrier underlayment isn’t required at all because the area has no real ice damming history.

An ice barrier is a self-sealing membrane that goes down before the shingles and stops water backing up under them from reaching the decking. It matters at this elevation in a way it doesn’t down in the flats. A quote for a roof here needs to include it.

There’s a disposal rule worth knowing about. Elmore County does not allow construction waste at its county transfer facilities. A roof tear-off produces a serious volume of material, and it has to go to an approved disposal site instead.

That’s our problem rather than yours, and it’s worth planning for at the start rather than on the morning of the tear-off.

Your old roof leaves with us and goes where it’s supposed to go.

You’re higher here than anywhere else we work. Mountain Home sits at about 3,150 feet, several hundred feet above the valley floor and higher than any other town in our service area. Snow behaves differently at that elevation, freeze and thaw cycles work harder on flashing and pipe boots, and the season for roofing work is shorter. The City of Mountain Home also maintains its own roof load design criteria in city code, separate from the county, so we check which applies to your address before quoting.

Contractor registration is checked here. Elmore County requires contractors to provide a current State of Idaho registration number with a permit application. Ours is #4071991, and you’re welcome to look it up before you call us.

A word for the base community. Mountain Home Air Force Base is twelve miles from town, and a lot of the people we’d be working for here are serving, have served, or are family. We take 5% off for military and veterans, and another 5% for first responders, medical staff and teachers. Ask when you get in touch and we’ll apply what fits.

Talk with Peak Roofing

Do I need a permit to re-roof in Mountain Home?

Yes. Elmore County names roofing permits specifically, and requires ice barriers under R905.1.2. City addresses may fall under the City of Mountain Home’s own building code instead. We confirm which applies and pull it.

Yes, 5% for military and veterans, and 5% for first responders, medical professionals and teachers. Mention it when you get in touch and we’ll apply what you qualify for.

To an approved disposal site. Elmore County doesn’t accept construction waste at its transfer facilities, so tear-off material can’t just go to the nearest one. We handle disposal as part of the job.

It does. At around 3,150 feet you get more snow and harder freeze and thaw cycles than the valley floor, which is why the ice barrier requirement exists here. The working season is shorter too, so earlier in the year is better for a replacement.

Yes. Enter your address and we measure your roof by satellite, then show you real pricing. We confirm the final scope at the inspection, because decking and ventilation aren’t visible from above.
