Permits Bought
|at the Counter|

Marsing is a small town where things are handled directly, and that includes permits. It also has a bit of land around most homes, which changes how a roofing job runs on the day.

Peak Roofing works Marsing and Owyhee County as an owner-operated company. Founded in 2017, grown on referrals, and taken over by Mike, who brought more than 10 years on roofs with him.

We do residential work and we install asphalt. We look, we photograph, and we explain what it means without dressing it up. If a repair is enough, we’ll say so. Read our story

Put the address in and stop.

We measure the roof from satellite imagery and price it on its own numbers. On a rural lot the tool measures the house, so if there are outbuildings you want to look at, mention it and we will include them at the inspection.

Scope is confirmed on the roof rather than from the air.

Monthly terms are available on qualifying replacements.

Warranties and |the Peak Promise|

We back the work, and the shingles carry their manufacturer’s warranty. Both get explained before we start rather than after. Marsing’s ground snow load runs lighter than Homedale’s despite sitting slightly higher.
We aim to get your roof right the first time. Once in a while a job hits a bump. What matters is that your roofer stands behind the work. If something needs attention after we’re done, you call us and we take care of it. That’s the promise we stand behind on every job.

Peak Roofing is licensed, bonded, and insured under Idaho registration #4071991.

Permits here are bought at the counter.

Marsing City Hall sells building permits directly, at the same desk that takes your utility payment and hands out tourist information. For a town of about 1,200 people that’s the sensible way to run it, and it means a city job doesn’t need a trip anywhere else.

If you’re just outside town, there’s a wrinkle worth knowing. Marsing has a defined Area of City Impact in Owyhee County code, a zone beyond the city limits where the city and the county both have a say in land use. Most homeowners have never heard of it, and it’s the reason “am I in the city or not” isn’t always a simple question out here. We establish which authority applies to your address before anything gets scheduled.

Owyhee County’s own permit route runs slowly. Once a complete application is in, the county says it takes roughly four weeks to return an approved permit. That’s fine when you plan for it and a real problem when you don’t.

The snow numbers here are genuinely light. The University of Idaho’s statewide study puts Marsing’s ground snow load at roughly 11 to 12 pounds per square foot. What’s worth noticing is that Marsing sits slightly higher than Homedale and still carries a lighter load than it does. These figures come from local snowfall records, not from a simple elevation rule, and two towns in the same county twenty minutes apart don’t share them. A regional average will not tell you what applies to your address.

Most of Marsing is country, and that changes the day. The 2020 Census recorded the town as entirely rural, with no urban population at all. In practice that means room. Room for a dumpster where it isn’t in anyone’s way, room to stage material, and often more than one building on the property. When we come out we’ll tell you what we see on the house and on whatever else is standing, rather than looking at one roof and ignoring the rest.

Marsing sits at about 2,267 feet on US 95, where Highway 78 turns southeast toward the rest of the county. The population was 1,229 at the last census.

Talk with Peak Roofing

Where do I get a roofing permit in Marsing?
City Hall, if you’re inside city limits. They handle building permits over the counter. Outside the city it goes through Owyhee County, and we’ll confirm which applies to your address.
It’s a zone just outside the city limits where Marsing and Owyhee County share a say in land use. It matters because it makes the question of who handles your project less obvious than it looks. We sort it out before we schedule.
Owyhee County says roughly four weeks to return an approved permit once a complete application is in. County jobs need starting earlier than city ones.
Yes. Enter your address and we measure your roof by satellite, then show you real pricing for that roof. We confirm the final scope at the inspection, because decking and ventilation aren’t visible from above.
We’ll tell you what we see. When we’re out for an inspection we look at the whole property rather than just the house, and you’ll get an honest read on what’s worth doing and what isn’t.
