Farm Country,
|Two Sets of Rules|

Wilder is farm country, and most properties here have more standing on them than just a house. That’s worth talking about before anyone starts writing an estimate, because the rules aren’t the same for every building on your place.

Owner-operated, based in the valley, working in Wilder and the rest of Canyon County. Peak Roofing dates to 2017 and grew on word of mouth. Mike took it on with more than 10 years of hands-on roofing behind him.

We do residential work and we install asphalt. We look, we photograph, and we explain what it means without dressing it up. If a repair is enough, we’ll say so. Read our story

From your address we measure the roof by satellite and return a real price. The tool prices the house. Farm buildings follow different rules in Canyon County, so tell us what else is standing and we will sort it separately.

What sits under the shingles gets checked at the inspection.

Financing on qualifying replacements includes zero-percent terms.

Roofing Services for |Wilder Homes|

Canyon County’s agriculture exemption covers genuine farm buildings. It does not cover your house.

Free roof inspection

Free inspection with pictures and a written condition report, so you have something dated to keep.

Storm damage roofing

After hail or high wind we inspect, document what we find, and help you understand your options.

Roof tune-ups

Roof tune-ups, repairs and cleaning. Usually best done with a roof, since the two meet at the same edge.

Roof replacement

Tear-off and replace, Owens Corning Duration shingles, ridge vent upgrade included, and the property swept for nails afterwards. Up to $1,000 off.

Roof repair in Marsing

Most calls start as a repair. We find what is actually leaking, photograph it, and tell you whether a fix will last. No charge for the estimate.

Our Roof Replacement Process

Price it online

Address in, price out, about a minute.

Free inspection, with photographs

We walk the roof, check flashing, ventilation and the places leaks begin, then show you what we found rather than describing it.

Written scope and colour choice

The exact price and full scope in writing before anyone starts. Canyon County's ordinance covers repairs and alterations, not just new building. We confirm which office applies.

Tear off and install

The old roof comes off, we check the decking underneath, and the new system goes on.

Magnet sweep and walkthrough

We sweep the property for nails, clear up, and walk the finished roof with you.

Warranties and |the Peak Promise|

The work is warranty-backed and the shingles carry the manufacturer’s own warranty. You will know what applies to your system before anyone starts. Canyon County design values apply, and pole and post frame buildings now require engineering.
We aim to get your roof right the first time. Once in a while a job hits a bump. What matters is that your roofer stands behind the work. If something needs attention after we’re done, you call us and we take care of it. That’s the promise we stand behind on every job.

Peak Roofing is licensed, bonded, and insured under Idaho registration #4071991.

On a Wilder property, your barn and your house don’t follow the same rules.

Canyon County publishes an agriculture building exemption, which means genuine farm structures can sit outside the normal permit requirements. Your home does not. Neither does a shop with living quarters, or an accessory building on a parcel where the county’s conditions aren’t met.

That trips people up. Someone re-roofed a machine shed last spring without a permit and nobody minded, so they assume the house works the same way. It doesn’t, and the county’s building ordinance is broad about it: a permit is required to alter, repair, or improve a building, not just to put up a new one.

There’s a second rule worth knowing out here. Since mid-2023, Canyon County has required engineering on pole and post frame buildings. If you’re planning anything on a pole barn beyond a straight re-roof, that changes the paperwork.

We establish which office handles your address before we schedule anything. Depending on the parcel that’s either the city or Canyon County Development Services, and it isn’t always obvious from a mailing address out here. Getting it right at the start is the difference between a job that runs and a job that stops.

What actually wears a Wilder roof out. This is high desert farm country at about 2,425 feet, with roughly a foot of precipitation a year and hot, exposed summers. Sun does the damage. Granules go first, the asphalt underneath stiffens, and the roof turns brittle years before anything dramatic happens to it. Wind is the other one, and open ground doesn’t slow it down. Shingles lift at the rakes and eaves first, where you can’t see them from the yard.

When we come out, we look at the whole place. Wilder was recorded as entirely rural in the last census, and most properties here have more than one roof on them. We’ll tell you what we see across the property and give you a straight read on what needs doing now and what can wait. The population was 1,597 at the last count, which is small enough that word travels, and we’d rather it travelled well.

Wilder |Roofing Questions|

Talk with Peak Roofing

I re-roofed my barn without a permit. Why does the house need one?
Because Canyon County’s agriculture exemption covers genuine farm buildings, and a home isn’t one. The county’s ordinance also covers repairs and alterations, not just new construction. We handle the permit either way, so it isn’t something you have to work out.
That depends on your parcel. It’s either the city or Canyon County Development Services, and out here a mailing address doesn’t always answer it. We confirm before scheduling.
Yes. Enter your address and we measure your roof by satellite, then show you real pricing for that roof. We confirm the final scope at the inspection, because decking and ventilation aren’t visible from above.
Tell us what’s on the property and we’ll take a look while we’re out. Canyon County requires engineering on pole and post frame buildings now, so anything beyond a straight re-roof there needs planning.

Both. A repair is often the right answer, and we’d rather do the repair and earn the bigger job later. Repair estimates are free.
